Tonight is our first rural ICL event in Choteau. The District is hosting a spaghetti dinner starting at 6:30p, and it is going to be a great night for Scouting (And a lovely night for a drive out to Choteau ????)!

We have received word that the current online version of Youth Protection Training will be replaced with an updated version effective March 1, 2019.
If you’ve started but not yet completed the current version of YPT, you have two choices:
You can complete the current version of the training before March 1, 2019 and be good to go. If you don’t complete the current version of YPT before March 1, any progress you have made on it WILL NOT transfer to the updated version and you will need to start over with the new version.
You can simply start over with the new version of the training after March 1, 2019.
If you’ve already completed the current version of YPT since January 1, 2019, you WILL NOT be affected by this change. The training you’ve completed since January 1, 2019 will satisfy your 2019 Youth Protection Training requirement. You DO NOT have to retake the new training when it becomes available on March 1.
YPT will be offered at the YWCA on February 26th
It will also be available at the Merit Badge Academy on February 23rd.
IOLS and BALOO training will be offered at Trail to First Class in April. Register with Aaron W. as soon as possible because space will be limited to 15 participants!
Please plan to attend the District Investment in Character & Leadership breakfast on February 14th at 7:00 am at the Celtic Cowboy, and bring a friend! Contact Sandra or Wayne for more information and to RSVP.
The Ne-i-Yahw Chapter is doing a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Montana Council offices. We, as the Lewis & Clark District Committee, invite you to the flag retirement ceremony and to join the Lewis & Clark District to an open house in lieu of our regular meeting.
We encourage you to come to bring your Packs, Troops, and families to both the ceremony and the open house and meet your District volunteers.
With the District Pinewood Derby check-in the evening of May 4th, the District Banquet has been rescheduled to May 18th at 6:30 PM at the Salvation Army Center 1000 17th Ave. S. in Great Falls.
This is a free event and all Scouts, Scouters and their families are welcome to attend. This event is our opportunity to celebrate Scouting in the Lewis & Clark District for the past year. It is also the time to recognize our Unit and District Scouters for the hard, dedicated work that they have put in serving our Scouts. Please take the time to recognize these adults, by nominating them for any of the following awards; District Award of Merit, Unit Leader Award of Merit, Scouters Key, Scouters Training Award. The nomination forms can be found at “Awards Central” located at scouting.org/awards. Please submit all nomination forms to the L&C District Advancement and Recognition Chairman, Brad Weaver, by May 4th. He can be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All packs and Troops are asked to be represented by their Unit Key 3. The Unit Key 3 consists of the Chartered Organization Representative (or Institutional Head), Committee Chair and the Cubmaster / Scoutmaster. In order to provide enough food, please RSVP with Brad Weaver no later than May 11th.
Please mark your calendars and plan on bringing the whole family!
Due to a lack of track and volunteers, the 2018 district pinewood derby has been canceled.
Per announcements beginning early December, via this newsletter, district meetings, roundtables, and district calendar, we needed support from our Cub units in setting up a track and a few to assist with weigh-ins and running the cars. In order to adequately prepare, we had until January 20th to have volunteers come forward. That, unfortunately did not happen.
Hopefully we will be able to resume the races for our Scouts in 2019!
