The annual Lewis and Clark District Awards Banquet and Dinner will be held on May 9, 2014, at the United Church of Christ, 2900 9th Avenue South in Great Falls. Dinner begins at 6 pm. Menu items include chili, cornbread, hot dogs, chicken, dessert and drinks. There is no cost to attend. Please come and enjoy a delicious dinner and fellowship with the wonderful volunteers from the Lewis and Clark District.
In addition to the banquet and dinner, the District will be conducting a chili and cornbread cook off competition beginning at 5 pm. Participants may submit their favorite chili or cornbread recipes or both. Due to some dietary restrictions, participants must be able to provide a list of ingredients to the judges upon request.
Lastly, the District cannot hand out annual awards unless the award’s committee receives nominations. This is an excellent opportunity for all involved in the Lewis and Clark District to recognize and honor those individuals who truly make a difference in the lives of our young Scouts. Categories this year include Cubmaster of the Year; Scoutmaster of the Year; Scouter of the Year; Senior Scouter of the Year; Volunteer (non-registered) of the Year; and Scout of the Year.
Also, the Montana Council of BSA is accepting nominations for The District Award of Merit. The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district level.
Fillable nomination forms are available via the links below. All nominations need to be into Awards Banquet Chairperson Deb Kemper, firstname.lastname@example.org, no later than April 1, 2014. Questions and RSVP may be directed to Deb via email or 406 799-6620.
Thank you for all you do for the Scouts of the Lewis and Clark District and I hope to see you all at the awards banquet.
