The Great Falls Association of REALTORS ® has asked for 13-15 or more Boy Scouts, in class A uniforms, to assist with this years Flag Day Ceremony on June 14, 2012, at Overlook Park (under the big flag off of 10th avenue South). The ceremony begins at 8 a.m., includes music, demonstrations, a flyover, raising of the Stars and Stripes and should finish up just before 9 a.m. Scouts are asked to arrive no later than 7:45 am. Last years Flag Day Ceremony was amazing.
Scouts will be asked to assist with the raising of a 30′ x 50′ Flag and to assist with a special flag presentation put on by the Elk’s Club. Scouts will walk approximately 30 feet, each carrying a different flag at appointed times. They will then stand during the rest of the presentation, holding the flag(s). This section of the flag ceremony will last approximately 10-15 minutes.
The Association is planning a practice session on Monday, June 11, 2012, from 6 p.m. until approximately 6:45 p.m. at Overlook Park.

Thank you in advance for your support of this great project. With the help of the MT Air National Guard and the many generous sponsors, the 30’ x 50’ Flag has been flying proudly in Great Falls since July 4th, 1984.
Today the flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, seven red alternating with 6 white. The stripes represent the original 13 colonies. The stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.
Pack 14 plans on taking some cubs. Do they want Boy Scouts only? Also, not trying to be picky but, we don’t have a Class “A” or “B” uniform in Scouting. We have “Field Uniform” and an “Activity Uniform”.
Good Scouting!!!
