Old/New Business (broke into committee meetings for 25 minutes)
Upcoming Events – Snow Sports Merit Badge and related Cub Scout Belt Loop will be held at Showdown on Sunday Jan 15th and Sunday Jan 29th, but not Feb 5th. Merit Badge Pow-wow is going to be held at the Great Falls LDS Stake Center (1401 9th St NW). Classes will begin at 8am. Please call Keith Hasbrouck (799-4498) with questions. Keith Hasbrouck is also planning on conducting a Boy Scout Leader Training during the Merit Badge Pow-wow for interested adults. Klondike Derby is January 20-22nd at Camp Rotary outside of Monarch. Remember that parking will be tight, so carpooling is encouraged! We are guaranteeing snow – this will be a great winter event! Deb Kemper is once again heading up our Food Drive – this year it will be the last two Saturdays in March (24th and 31st).

Upcoming Trainings – Merit badge Pow-wow begins January 14th, Wood Badge 2012 sign-ups are still available! Woodbadge this year is May 17-19 & June 7-9 at Grizzly Base Camp and costs $275. The council is still taking applications for Powderhorn 2012 which is July 23-27,2012 at Grizzly Base Camp. Powderhorn is the BSA high adventure/Venturing training and is also open to Venturing Youth Leadership to attend. If interested, the application and info can be found on the council website: www.mtbsa.org. The cost for Powderhorn is $300.

Eagle Board – Tim reported that we finished with 18 new Eagle Scouts in 2011!

Day Camp – Cub Day Camp will be June 12-14th. The Day Camp committee is going to designate a back up location “just in case” we encounter a situation such as last year. We are beginning to recruit station leaders, and units need to begin recruiting walk around leaders for the their boys. The goal is to have 3 adults for each youth at camp.
Dave Mikulecky reported that the Silver Beaver Eagle Recognition banquet was December 22nd and had a decent turnout. Especially strong was the turnout from the Marine Corps League, who both helped fund the event and came out to support it.

Order of the Arrow – OA needs unit to reserve their crossover ceremony dates so that the Ceremony can perform. Please get the dates of your Blue and Gold Banquets turned in to the OA.
